MOTU Fans,
You overwhelmingly asked for the ears of Moss Man to be unflocked and we listened… we stopped production of the flocked ear version, made a change, and Moss Man™ will forevermore have unflocked ears. Now, all 2010 Club Eternia™ subscribers will automatically get the version with unflocked ears as their March figure!
But because we produced a small quantity of flocked ears before making what’s called a “running change,” we will sell both the flocked-ear and unflocked-ear versions as separate items on March 15th. That means there will be two separate product pages, one with flocked ears and one with unflocked ears, so you’ll need to be careful that you order the one you want. Again, there’s just a small quantity of the flocked-ear version available, and we’re expecting them to go quickly.
Other than the flocking, the figures are identical. Both versions will have an evergreen fresh scent and an alternative 2002-inspired head designed by the Four Horsemen. Your chance at both happens right here at MattyCollector.com at 12:00 noon Eastern/9:00 am Pacific!

I’m sure there will be those who complain–for some reason–but I have to admit, this is pretty cool of Mattel.
Poe’s Note: I started to write up a Poe’s Point about Big Bang Pow!’s upcoming Lost figures, done in the style of the 1970s Mego lines. But then I realized that, as someone who doesn’t watch Lost and as a lifelong action figure collector, I didn’t have any idea how much these toys would appeal to BBP’s target, the Lost fan who’s only a casual toy collector (if at all). As such, I’ve invited my cousin Ed Humphries, owner of The Ed Zone and columnist for the Adrenaline Vault, to offer his perspective. In part one, I asked for his knee-jerk reaction upon seeing the photos of the toys. Here’s the second part, written after Ed read the press release and took into account what BBP is trying to do.
Earlier I offered up my first blush observations of a new line of Lost-based action figures from Bif Bang Pow! and EMCE Toys. While I’m not an action figure collector, aside from a smattering of beloved trophies that adorn my desk and Man Cave, I was invited to lend my eyes and record my first thoughts at observing this new line and its very particular design choice. I may not be the action figure expert but I do come with an encyclopedic knowledge of Lost. Simply put -I’m here to call em as I see em. (more…)

When Poe Ghostal hit up his favorite Lost obsessive looking for someone to provide an expert opinion on a new line of character action figures, I figured why not. While I have found my own web-based soapbox to offer up a weekly column spinning wild and crazy theories about what I think is really happening on that fantasy island, I realize that my powers are going to waste if they are restricted to one tiny slab of online real estate. As someone’s dead uncle once said, “With great power comes great responsibility”. Well – I’ll be damned if I’m gonna’ let all this intellect languish on feverish, imagined queries like “Who Would Win in a Jello Fight? – Kate or Juliet.” That doesn’t help anyone – least of all my marriage. Hey everyone, Paul here again. Like almost any collector I feel like I must share my shame with the world, so this time I have something that I really enjoy. It’s a re-purposed Indiana Jones playset full of G.I. Joe action.

I was hoping the first picture of the formally rumored AT-AT would be a glorious money shot, but our first halfway decent view is a crappy picture that leaves out the head. Still, it’s simply beautiful to behold.
Seriously, I have full on nerd boner here. WANT!

Toy Aisle Trolls is a feature highlighting acts of vandalism to in-store toy items. If you find a ruined package, a stolen figure, a swapped-out figure, or any other such acts, take a photo (cell phone photos are fine if they’re not blurry) and email them to poe AT poeghostal.com. Also, please note: I’m deliberately being over-the-top with my condemnation of these people–I don’t actually wish bodily harm upon them. Just severe mental anguish.

Female Twileks are the Swedish bikini models of the Star Wars universe. In fact, I really can’t think of an alien race that’s as alien, yet sexy as the Twileks (don’t you dare point to them new fangeled blue Avatars you sicko). If you’ve been hankering for a harem of Twileks for your Lego Luke Skywalker or a cadre of Sith Twilek assassins your wish has come true. There are custom parts that you can order from AreaLightCustoms.com. Heads are five bucks and torsos are four bucks. Now if that seems pricey, you haven’t had to buy many Legos or tried to acquire rare minifigs lately. They’re worth their weight in gold studs.
