I’m a huge fan of the 1980s sci-fi epic Dune by David Lynch. In fact, I believe I’m one of the select few or should I say the elite with great taste. Anyway, I love Lego and I love Dune so this sandworm fits naturally into my wheelhouse like peanut butter and chocolate or even machine guns and chocolate.

I’m a huge Halo fan, so I picked up my pre-order copy of Halo: ODST yesterday. I’ve played through it enough and have been satisfied to the point that I’m interested in Halo once again. Because of this, I’ve been looking for Halo related news items I may have missed over the last few months and these Halo RC vehicles are something I certainly overlooked and are worth noting:

The Hornet is certainly cool, but the real winner has got to be the Warthog. I’ve seen fan made Warthogs over the years that were a lot more detailed, this one might do nicely in a pinch. This is especially true if you’re too lazy to make one of your own (that’s me).
And please don’t tell me I’m the only Halo fan on PoeGhostal.com. There’s got to be at least a few of you out there.

After geeking out over the new AT-ST, I knew that there had to be some Star Wars product coming down the pipe that had to be ultra lame to make up for it. I was right! Here’s a collection of some of the lamest Star Wars toys headed to a store near you!
Anakin Skywalker Desert Sport Skiff

This is after Anakin went native on Tatooine or something and what fashion sense! He’s rocking a poncho and a skirt! This Jedi is setting trends. And yes, that skiff was Luke Skywalkers from the Power of the Force line in the 1990s and it hasn’t gotten any better.

Now that we’re a couple of waves into the 3 3/4th inch Marvel Universe line from Hasbro, what’s everyone’s thoughts on them? I’ve been sort of happy with the line except for one big problem, the cost. It sucks paying eight bucks for one figure. It’s really limited what I get. Instead of buying a bunch of ninjas for Wolverine to fight, I have zero and I’m super picky about what heroes and villains I do pick up. I’m still on board with the line though, and I’m looking towards the future for some of the upcoming figures. The next comic wave in particular has got me school girl excited.

Since I’m more of the “G.I. Joe” guy around here, it shouldn’t come as any surprise that there haven’t been any reviews or input on G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra. Why would anyone else but me subject themselves to eyeball torture if they didn’t have to? Personally, I put it off for as long as I could, but this weekend I finally decided that my duty outweighed any kind of pain I’d suffer from having to watch this thing. By the time the credits finally rolled I was surprised to find that I kind of liked it.
Spoilers after the jump!

Hey y’all, I’ve been looking through pictures of upcoming G.I. Joe figures and I can’t help but share some of my thoughts. I’m mostly sharing my thoughts because I have a huge ego and think everyone cares about what I think, but it’s partly because I like the sound of my own voice. Let’s do this!
Arctic Threat Storm Shadow

Okay on the plus side is the camo pattern brings to mind one of my favorite Storm Shadow costumes of all time. On the negative, it’s a simple repaint that’s hard to buy based on the seemingly unending price hikes with Joes. There’s a lesson here, if prices were lower I’d buy a lot more. I’m also sure there’s a contingent of you gnashing teeth at the big rocket launcher, but in this case it’s kind of cool. I like the idea of having a launching zip line.

I’m running pretty cold on Star Wars toys, but thanks to the OAFE.net forums I was recently made aware of a must have Star Wars vehicle. Behold, the new, Wal-Mart Exclusive AT-ST (on the right):

While the Mattel Masters of the Universe debacle drove the toy collecting community into a frenzied rage, the other toy book this year has been getting a lot of respect if not the same amount of talk. When my buddy was at SDCC this year I gave him a list of stuff to pick up for me and one of the items was the Hasbro related book Insight (as well as the Masters book that I didn’t get). I can say that I managed to get a copy, it’s a sweet arse book.

What? Toy Hunt on Poe Ghostal’s blog? How is that possible!? Well, after the bastards killed my blog I took all my awesome with me, so here’s the first Toy Hunt on Poe Ghostal. If you’re not familar with Toy Hunt, it’s basically me talking about what toys I bought. Why should you care? I don’t know, you just should. So let’s kick this off:

After moving to a new city I hadn’t stopped at any Wal-Marts yet. Actually that’s a lie, I stopped at one when I was looking for apartments and was really unimpressed. Today though, I stopped at a new one that I found and I scored big (at least for me). Most Wal-Marts around me tend to suck. Hell, I stopped going to one because they don’t even carry G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra or any DC figures. So imagine my surprise when I realized that this one had the potential to be a magic Wal-Mart.

If you’re hoping that Hasbro will re-release the classic G.I. Joe Skystriker, I hope you’re not holding your breath. First of all, they are going in a more futuristic direction with the movie line. Secondly, the rumor is that Funskool ruined the molds when they had them. But even if they managed to make a new Skystriker, it still wouldn’t be as cool as this jet from JSI:

This is a 1:18th scale F-14 Tomcat, meaning it’s to scale with G.I. Joes and it could be modified to be the most bad ass Skystriker on the planet. It’s got a ton of detail and is a pre-order for the low, low price of 209.00. Okay, that’s not very low, but it’s still damned cool. You know, I think you owe me a Christmas gift from last year. This is a great way to make amends.
