Details about the Mattycollector “Black Monday” sale (yes, Battle Cat is back)

Toy Fans,

When you’re too stuffed to get out to the stores, where better to shop than from the comfort of your computer? My biggest sale ever starts Monday, November 29th at 9 AM Pacific (Noon Eastern) and ends on Sunday December 5th at 11:59 PM Pacific (2:59 AM Eastern)!

We’ll have a total of 21 products ready and waiting to go home with you. Are these sloppy seconds that didn’t sell the first time? No! They’re delicious leftovers from customer service stock that were held back for returns and damages. However, because they’re leftover stock, that means quantities are EXTREMELY limited in many cases. If there’s something you missed out on before that you want, don’t wait. This could be a last-chance deal so get em while you can!

So what are the 21 products? Well, I can’t spill all the details right off the bat, but I will tell you these three to start. They’re all from the second run (first time for Battle Cat!), so they have “The Original” burst on the package.

Then, each week over the next 5 weeks, I’ll reveal more products:

  • October 14th – 3 more products revealed
  • October 21st – 3 more products revealed
  • October 28th – 4 more products revealed
  • November 4th – 4 more products revealed
  • November 11th – final 4 products revealed

But hang on, there’s even MORE big news… on Monday, November 29th ONLY from 9 AM Pacific (Noon Eastern) till 11:59 PM Pacific (2:59 AM Eastern), we’ll give you 10% off the total price of any order over $100, excluding taxes and fees! All products must be purchased during the same transaction and shipped to a single address so not only will you save on products, you’ll save on shipping, too!

Speaking of saving, if you’ve still got a coupon for $8 off the purchase of a Battle Cat figure this is your last chance to use it. Please note that you’ll need to have the original coupon code to take advantage of this offer.

So remember… the sale is on for one week only from Monday, November 29th through Sunday, December 5th, with November 29th being your super savings day. This is the perfect chance to get all your holiday shopping done for the toy fans in your life – and get a little something (or a lot of little somethings) for yourself!

New MOTUC packaging reveals: TRU 2-packs, Shadow Beast, Weapons Pack #2

Where have I been, you ask? Busy! Working on getting more content up.

Anyway, in the meantime here are some cool pics of the new upcoming Weapons Pack, the Shadow Beast, and the new TRU 2-packs, all courtesy of He-Man.org member TokyoNever, who got them from “a Turkish contact” that he/she “met on YouTube.” Huh.

Buzz-Off’s Bio Revealed

No one seems to know where it came from–or they won’t say–but Buzz-Off’s bio, and a packaging pic, have surfaced. Here they are for your perusal. I’m not going to offer comments–I’ll get to that when I do the official bio discussion. I will say one thing–between this and Carnivus, I’m starting to think the BW is deliberately going for humor with these “real names.”

Onell Designs’ The Rig on sale now (update: SOLD OUT)

The Rig, which Matt Doughty was working on when I interviewed him and I’ve been waiting for ever since, is finally on sale at Onell’s store for $25 each. If you loved all those fun vinyl anime toys in the 1980s (like this set, which I once owned), I think you should go buy one.

But don’t take my word for it–not yet, anyway. Here’s Battlegrip’s review of the Rig. Between Gygor and this, September 15 was a big day for toys I’ve been waiting for.

Happy Gygor Day!

Yeah, that’s right! I’m so excited for Gygor I’m not even giving Carnivus top billing!

But there is also Carnivus, and also Egon with no slime, a PKE meter and a stack of books. Looking forward to paying $30 for a lack of green paint and a tiny accessory.

The big question is, will Gygor be a quick sellout or will he linger? Many people seem to think he’ll be a tough sell, but I predict he’s gone by 1:30pm at the latest.

Anway, the all-in-one page is here.

Doc Thomas Probes > Most Wanted, Left 4 Dead 2 Edition

Welcome to Part 2 of my detailed Left 4 Dead-themed Most Wanted article, in which I beg Valve and “some other company” to create toys based on one of my recent favourite games! If you’re wondering why I haven’t specified the company I’d like to make these toys, that’s because there’s so many great companies that it doesn’t matter who makes them as long as the toys are great. Although top contender NECA have absolutely showed their chops at making great video game figures, including the Resident Evil zombies we know and love, Mezco have also done a sensational job with their Attack of the Living Dead line, comprised entirely of army-building fully-articulated awesomely-detailed zombies, some of which already resemble L4D characters. Really, it doesn’t matter – the toys are what matters, so on with the show! (more…)

Joe Amaro’s Robot Knights

Customizer extraordinaire Joe Amaro has created some amazing customs of Skeletor’s “Robot Knights” (sounds like a bad BSG spinoff) from the Filmation cartoon. Visit his site for more pics. Says Joe:

These are complete new sculpts that are fully articulated. The head turns, the shoulders are swivel joints and the elbows are ball joints. Plus they have removable shoulder pads and the hands can interchanged with various weapons like a laser gun, saw blade and a mace. I also sculpted a new stand for him as the current stands would make him too high.
