Pixel Dan’s King Grayskull Video Review
Odds ‘n Ends > November 5, 2010
- The Grizzlor early reviews are coming in. You can find Pixel Dan’s review in the previous post, and here’s Fwoosh’s first look. Fwoosh also has first looks of King Grayskull and the second Weapons Pak.
- The Guess-the-Weapon contest is over and a winner has been chosen. I’ll announce both the weapon and the winner very soon (hopefully tonight, but early next week at the latest).
- Got a ton of reviews in the hopper–pics are taken, now I just have to the really hard part: the writing.
- Count Dr. Mrs. Ghostal and I among the converted for the new BBC show Sherlock. We’ve only watched the first ep, but it’s fantastic. Of course, due to the lag between the BBC and BBC America, the DVD and Blu-Ray actually come out next week, before the season has even finished airing over here. Oh, and the guy who plays Holmes is named Benedict Cumberbatch. Only in England.
- Speaking of Sherlock, and therefore Steven Moffat, and therefore Doctor Who, the next Doctor Who figure assortments contains the usual crazy gaggle of robots/monsters/smartly-dressed types. God help me if I ever get into Doctor Who.
- You should immediately go play Organ Trail, an Oregon Trail tribute game about zombies. It’s awesome.

Ask Mattel > Answers for November 1
1.) You recently announced that the Winston w/ Slime Blower was delayed. Is there any chance the delay is because you’re adding the “football pads” part of his outfit?
He is delayed to make him more accurate to the film. He will have the full vest and pads when released. (more…)
Giving Trap Jaw a hand
A fan on He-Man.org recently suggested a repainted Roboto hand for Trap Jaw, and I think that would be a neat idea for the next weapons pack. It’s not a popular one, though. Which I don’t really understand–what’s the harm? The next weapons pack is going to be a bunch of repainted accessories anyway, and the more options I have for Trap Jaw, the better. I think the mock-up gives him a certain Darth Vader-ish vibe.
Anyway, I created a few mock-up pics, just for fun.
Poe on Roast Gooble Dinner podcast, episode #23
I made a guest appearance on the most recent episode of He-Man.org‘s Roast Gooble Dinner podcast. You can listen to it at the link below, or get it from Itunes (if it’s not up yet, it should be within the hour).
The big reason for my going on was to discuss the Gygor bio.
Matty’s Masquerade > And the Winner Is…

I didn’t get quite as many submissions as I’d hope for my Matty Masquerade contest, but I suppose that’s what happens when you require more than just a comment. Nonetheless, there were definitely some fun entries.
First off, Honorable Mention goes to cartoonist Bill White, who hails from my own native Massachusetts South Shore. While Bill’s piece is excellent, it doesn’t quite follow the rules as I’d intended them (you could redraw Matty’s face, but I didn’t mean to say you could draw an entire scene around him; I’m sure more people would have done that, given the option). Nonetheless, it deserves to be appreciated, so I hereby present Bill’s strip for your approval:
Be sure to visit Bill’s website for many more cartoons.
Now, the official runners-up. (more…)
