The Outer Space Men – Xodiac: The Man from Saturn by Ed Speir IV
Onell Designs’ Rig goes back on sale tonight
Just a heads-up, Onell Designs’ awesome Rig goes back on sale tonight at 9pm ET (this is the Mk II version, with blue highlights instead of green). I’ve got the first release, and it’s a great toy. I may just get this one too. The first one was $25, so I imagine this one will be as well.
Trailer for Nickelodeon’s TMNT, coming in 2012
Here’s the trailer for Nick’s upcoming 2012 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles show. I’m getting a cel-shaded CGI vibe, which…may…or may not work for me. Really not much to go on here, though.
Plus, the show is at least a year away, so this is very much a “teaser,” in pretty much every sense of the word.
Still, I’ve got my fingers crossed for the new toys. Will Playmates learn their lesson and finally give us fully-articulated 3.75″ and/or 6″ TMNT figures? They were moving in that direction when they cancelled all their TMNT product.

Any questions for Mattel? (Read post before commenting)

OK, read carefully this time, folks.
Mattel traditionally gives humorous answers for their April 1 Ask Mattel, followed by the real answers the next day.
This time, I say we forego the real questions (and real answers) and ask some April 1-style questions of our own. So go wild. Now, I’ll tell you right now, I will not submit any questions like, “Where exactly does forcing fans to overpay for shoddy QC and unwanted paint schemes fit into your overall scheme for world domination?” or similarly bitchy snark. Not interested.
What I want to see is stuff like this:
- “The Skystriker SDCC set looks great. Will you also be making one with a Wind Raider color scheme?”
- “Does He-Man have to use any special ointment to prevent a rash from that furry underwear?”
- “I bought that He-Man with the furry cape. Great figure, but the bio says he lost to John Cena in Wrestlemania 22. But John Cena isn’t even an Evil Warrior! Who’s writing these bios?”
Questions are due by 11:59pm Sunday, March 13.
Toy Aisle Trolls > RU[serious]2?

Toy Aisle Trolls is a feature highlighting acts of vandalism to in-store toy items. If you find a ruined package, a stolen figure, a swapped-out figure, or any other such acts, take a photo (cell phone photos are fine if they’re not blurry) and email them to poe AT poeghostal.com.
Today’s TAT arrives from Poester Marc:
Wow, Shaak Ti’s shorter than I expected. And more mechanical. And more cheap-piece-of-non-articulated-crap. And–
Hey wait a minute.
Shaak Ti is still in there. Her robe’s been taken off and is stuck behind R2, but she’s still in there.
What…what the hell is going on here? As Marc puts it:
Don’t know what’s going on here. Opened, R2 inserted and Shakk Tii is undressed and put back in. Who knows.
Not me. Not…not me. Was this even a troll? Or just a confused employee trying to fix a return? OR GREMLINS?! I think it was gremlins.

Poe’s Point > Man-E-Regrets
So, the Man-E-Faces color vote is over, and as expected, half/flesh-half/orange won. I voted for half-and-half back when the poll started. It was my first instinct upon being told about it at Toy Fair, and I didn’t question it at that time.
But I’ve changed my mind. It’s not that I specifically wish one of the other choices had won, but rather, I think either of the other choices should have won. This should have been an either-or situation. (more…)

Today’s T.A.T. comes courtesy of Poester AFOS:
Writes AFOS:
My local Toys R Us have sold out of Mezco’s Mez-Its with the exception of Perseus from Clash of the Titans. Those have been shelfwarming for awhile now. The other day I was walking by them when I finally paid attention and noticed something odd. One of the Perseus-us (Persei?) was in a Beetlejuice package. And another was in a Freddy Kreuger package. I took a closer look and it was obvious the boxes had been opened and poorly resealed. I’m not sure why someone would do this. The only reason I can imagine is possibly because the Perseus Mez-Its are cheaper than the other ones. Anything to save a few pennies I guess.
OK, so obviously this is yet another example of a troll saving a few measly bucks…but I’m having a hard time getting past the idea that AFOS’s local TRU is sold out of Mez-Itz. Are these things really that popular? My local TRU has a ton of them, along with Mighty Muggs and the other similar mass market vinyls.
I much preferred the old Mez-Its, with their smaller size (though that’s returning soon) and their unique sculpting. But apparently I’m in the minority?
