LoEB: Poe’s Ideal Saturday Morning Schedule

I’ve recently joined Coolandcollected.com‘s “League of Extraordinary Bloggers.” The idea is that once a week there’s a topic, and you write up a post on that topic. You don’t have to participate every week, but seeing as how I suggested this particular topic I figured I should. It was actually last week’s topic and somehow I completely missed it. (more…)

Want more Major Matt Mason? Mattel wants to know

MVC-005F

MVC-005F by johnnyapollo, on Flickr

So, I’m way behind on this, but a few weeks back Power Pal Pixel Dan asked me to help promote the fact that Mattel is apparently curious about what kind of interest there is in a Major Matt Mason comeback.

Part of me wonders whether this is partly inspired by the success of Glyos and the Outer Space Men; I suppose it would be way too much to hope Mattel would work with the Four Horsemen and Matt Doughty on creating a new Matt Mason line. (more…)

Secret Power-Con accessory will NOT be available elsewhere

Pixel Dan issued a heads-up that the Power-Con secret accessory will in fact not be available anywhere else. Here are the details:

  • The accessory is a weapon
  • The accessory was a “happy accident” that Mattel realized would make for a perfect giveaway
  • There are only 1,000 pieces made
  • This is a Power-Con ONLY exclusive. Since there are only 1,000 pieces made, once they are out they are gone for good. Don’t expect these to be made available anywhere else after Power-Con
To which I say: I can live without it. But if you can’t, then, as Pixel Dan suggests, make arrangements to get to Power-Con or find someone who is willing to pick one up for you (but you still have to purchase a ticket). Also, FantasticPlasticToys.com has a few pre-orders available for the accessory.

The Power-Con Secret Accessory

Apparently there’s going to be a secret Mattel-produced MOTUC accessory for the first 1,000 fans who register for Power-Con. No one knows what it is. Odds are it will be a repaint/color variant of an existing accessory, but there’s no guarantee it’s not something new (for example, Spector’s green whip). In any event, Fantastic Plastic Toys is offering the item for $18.50, the cost of a Power-Con ticket and shipping.

It’s worth noting that the text on the Power-Con page says that this accessory will be “first available” at Power-Con, which suggests it will eventually be available through some other means.

Dave and Devall’s Toys and Collectibles Episode 33: A chat with Poe Ghostal

I was completely remiss in not mentioning that I was a guest this week on Dave and Devall’s Toys and Collectibles, a great podcast by the guys at Toy World Order. (The show was recorded Monday night, before the Mattycollector subscriptions were announced.) You can check out the podcast here.

The boys are back for Episode 33! This week they talk about Devall’s feelings on MOTU Classics and the bad side of the MOTU fandom until they are joined by the LEGENDARY toy blogger Poe Ghostal as they continue their talk about MOTU Classics and more before they answer YOUR questions and introduce an all-new weekly segment called Thought’s with A. Das Baron! So grab a stool and saddle up to the toy bar!

Joe Amaro’s Manta Raider: Power-Con sale information

I’m trying to take a break from all things MOTUC for a week or two, post-Subpocalypse – just want to get away from the topic for a bit – but when Power Pal Joe Amaro sent along news about his new Manta Raider, I had to post it. –PG

The price for the Manta Raider will be $50.00 and will be limited to one per person.  I am thinking about pre-selling them to help avoid any headaches at the con. Anything that does not sell during the pre-sell period will be at the con for sale.

This is for the Manta Raiders at Power Con only. I will not be shipping any out at this time. That will be another run and there WILL BE another run later for fans who could not attend Power Con.

To be clear if you pre-order you will have to pick them up at Rudy’s booth.  Which is better because while there you can him sign it!

But I will not do this until I have them done and ready, so maybe by early to mid September. I will keep updating you as I have information, especially when I have the ordering information.

Thank you so much for your support!

NOTE: The Manta Raider is not associated with MOTU or Mattel.  It’s a limited edition handmade piece of art and not a toy.

135%. Ram Man is saved, and Geldor is the fan’s choice winner, which I’m happy about because I voted for him.

Please begin celebrating/cynical eye-rolling……..nnn-now.

Club Infinite Earths confirmed for 2013

While MOTUC fans await in agony for word on whether the 2013 Club Eternia went through (I’m sure it did), Club Infinite Earth fans already have confirmation.

I’ll say it: I’m surprised. I was certain CIE was dead in the water. I was wrong. It appears there was a huge surge over the last few days.

Sightings > A new He-Man statue in the works?

Pop Culture Shock Collectibles, whose founder is former SOTA head man and Face Off contestant Jerry Macaluso, has posted the above pic on their Facebook page, soliciting fan response as to which of the above they would most like to see as a statue.

It’s important to note the phrasing: “What would be your favorite style if Masters Of The Universe were done as 1:4 scale statues? Choose A, B, C or D” (my italics) So this may not be a done deal (I think it probably is, though).

Personally, my selection would be A. We’ve had a few semi-realistic statues from the Four Horsemen since the Millennium MOTU era, and I’m more likely to buy a purely Filmation He-Man (especially since it appears we won’t be getting one in MOTUC). But it seems to me that D seems to be winning. Anyway, go and cast your vote!
