A favor to ask

Please permit me to make a small request.

I know many of you probably use Adblock or other advertisement-blocking software on your browsers. Most of these programs usually allow you to make exceptions for certain pages or websites. I would immensely appreciate it if you could disable your adblocking software for poeghostal.com.

The only ads I have are either static ads (like Enchanted Toy Chest and Amazon) or Google Ads, so there’s no risk of malware or spyware (as far as I’m aware, anyway). Even if you don’t order anything from the ads, some of them track page impressions and reimburse me in that way.

Disabling Adblock is something I do for my own favorite websites (e.g., Topless Robot, Great White Snark, the Fwoosh, Toy Bender, and so forth). It’s an easy way of showing your appreciation for the site without having to do anything other than look at a couple ads. And who knows, maybe you’ll actually end up getting a good deal on something.

Ask Mattel Mid-April Roundup

Here’s your bi-monthly Ask Mattel roundup. I’ll update it with any more that pop up.

Interesting tidbits:

Kastor: With the next Matty Collector DCUC 2 pack coming in only a few weeks, are there any hints about the third 2 pack for the line? A guy and a girl? Hero and Villain? A theme to the pack?

Matty: The next pack will be two villains!

That’s cool. Here’s hoping for two Flash foes–maybe Heat Wave and Mirror Master? (more…)

1.) While you can’t provide any specific numbers, can you give any sense of how much more widely available the next Walmart-exclusive wave of DCUC will be than Wave 5 (if at all)?

It is up to Wal-Mart to announce those numbers. (more…)

I’m looking for John Connor

He and I are done professionally

…because apparently I won’t find him in toy store aisles.

Well, that’s not entirely true. A figure called John Connor will be available as part of Playmates 6″ Terminator Salvation line. But because the rights to Bale’s likeness weren’t secured at the time the line was rushed into production*, the John Connor figure is wearing a full helmet that covers almost his entire face. But it’s totally John Connor!

You can find Action-Figure’s full rundown here.

P.S. What’s with the red arm stripe? Makes him look like a freakin’ Nazi stormtrooper.

P.P.S. I totally know who’s under that helmet! It’s the Steel Brigade guy.
