Toy Aisle Trolls > Silverjolt

Toy Aisle Trolls is a feature highlighting acts of vandalism to in-store toy items. If you find a ruined package, a stolen figure, a swapped-out figure, or any other such acts, take a photo (cell phone photos are fine if they’re not blurry) and email them to poe AT poeghostal.com.

Today’s travesty is an oldie but goodie, in that the photo was taken two years ago by Poester RM.

Writes RM:

This one’s 2 years old, but I thought your readers would find it “interesting.”

Just sitting there all neatly sealed up, on shelf with the other Transformers at my local Big W store.

It has 2 broken parts of something, a grey claw, and a blaze orange missle. All tied to the plastic tray inside, but CLEARLY not a toy, much less the Transformer that belongs in that box (or any sort of Transformer at all).

Totally unbelieveable!

Vintage Toy Ads > Balzac

I remember my cousin Mike and I laughing about this ad every single time we saw it. “Us two Balzacs are where it’s at!” *Cue missed high-five*

Ask Mattel > Answers for Mid-March

1.) The Batman : Legacy figures look great. Regarding Two-Face: will he come with an alternate, non-coin-holding right hand (hopefully one that can hold a gun)?

No.

2.) The Movie Masters figures tended to be in a slightly smaller, more “realistic-to-humans” scale than DCUC. Will the Arkham Asylum figures be closer to Movie Masters or DCUC, in terms of scale and style? (more…)

Some collectors have been saying three reissues in one month is too much–mostly because it’s a financial burden. I see their point. But, does Mattel have an obligation to space out the reissues to help collectors manage their money better? I would think that as long as the reissues all sold, it’s a moot point; but perhaps multiple reissues favors the wealthier collectors?

Bastards of the Universe > “Bazaar, Part 1”

Are you the type of collector that keeps various lines displayed separately, like a little kid that won’t let his gravy touch his corn on his plate? An odd metaphor, since I do eat like that; but my toy shelves are one big mixer. I love doing strips with as many figures as I can cram in there, but I always forget someone, or get a perfect toy off eBay a week late. More next week, including more 339/1!
