Sword of Ages shipping error (Updated)

It’s come to my attention that in my rush to get my Swords of Ages shipped out as quickly as possible, I neglected to combine shipping on multiple-item orders (I thought the website would do this automatically, but since it calculates shipping by weight, apparently not). If you think you overpaid for shipping and would like to discuss a refund, send me an email at poe AT poeghostal.com

UPDATE: I just looked through the orders and this seems to have happened only with orders of 3+ items. I went ahead and refunded those people the balance of the shipping. If you didn’t receive a refund and you think you were overcharged, shoot me an email and let me know.

Four Horsemen no longer sculpting Ghostbusters Classics

Did you buy the Ecto-1 subscription? Was the fact that the Four Horsemen were working on the line a major factor in your decision? Then Mattel has some bad news for you.

Hey TG,
Saw a response to another post where you listed various lines that the 4H are doing, but Ghostbusters wasn’t listed, probably just a simple oversight. But I gotta ask, are the Four Horsemen still on Ghostbusters? Or are future figures being done by Mattel in-house sculptors like the 12″ Figures?
Thanks!

While the Horsemen did some work on the original bodies for the 4 main Ghostbusters, the current 2011 figures are done by Mattel’s in-house sculpting department! The Horsemen are busy on DCUC and MOTUC and they can only sculpt so much at once!

Wow. I mean…look, I don’t think it’s geekish overreaction to say this is a pretty huge deal, and something Mattel should have made clear before the Ecto-1 subscription went on sale. (more…)

DCUC 16 Carded Pics

Remember how Poe stopped collecting DCUC? Well, I always made the exception that I’d continue to collect Bat-characters, and therefore I’m pretty damned excited about Wave 16. I’ve already pre-ordered the wave (gotta get that Bane, and Jonah Hex has so much original sculpting I’ll probably hang on to him–but Mercury will be hitting the trade list).

Mattel released carded pics of the wave on their Facebook page, and I’ve posted them after the jump. (more…)

And the April MOTUC figure is…Sy-Klone!

Sy-Klone

Sy-Klone by Fanboy30

ToyFare #162 isn’t on sale at comic shops until next week, but fans who have already received their subscription copies have spilled the beans–the April MOTUC figure is Sy-Klone. Reports say he looks very close to the vintage version, but with the large 200X-style ring on his back.

The pic is a ToyFare exclusive, so please don’t post or link to it in the comments.

A new direction for DCUC?

Batman’s latest costume

Before we go any further, let me clarify: this is a rumor. I think it’s much too early to begin venting one’s spleen as if this were fact. I want no aneurysms as a result of my posting this, got it? (more…)

Three years of PGPoA!

It’s hard to believe, but today is the three-year anniversary of PGPoA. Frankly, I’m shocked that I’ve been able to maintain my attention on a single project this long. But here we are, 1,500 posts later (not counting Pics of the Day). We’ve been through a lot–the early Interview Era, the It Figures period, the DCUC era, the MOTUC era, the Onan the Barbarian era, and now the Bastards of the Universe era.

I want to thank OB1, Mecha-Shiva, all the Power Pals and of course, my loving and patient wife for all their help and support over the years.

Oh, and fear not, the annual Four Horsemen interview is coming–they’re just running a bit late with it because they’re so busy making your favorite toys.

In honor of the anniversary, I’m giving away a free Dread Axe of Darkness to the first commenter who can tell me what figure was the subject of my first official action figure review (hint: it wasn’t written for PGPoA).

Swords sold out!

Wow–that was fast! The Sword is sold out, but fear not, we’ll have more in very soon!

Crom! Vikor moved up to January, Bow bumped to February (w/ pics and bio)

From Mattel’s Facebook page:

MOTUC fans,

Quick update for everyone on the 2011 Vikor figure. Bow was running a little late and Vikor was actually running early so we swaped them in the schedule. Look for Vikor as the Club Eternia figure on Jan 18th and Bow on Feb 15th. As an added bonus, here is Vikor carded!

Enjoy!

Matty

I’m going to save my own bio discussion for when I can scan the card, but feel free to discuss it below.

You will perish in flames! (Also: Mattycollector update)

Mattel has revealed a closer look at their Ghostbusters Classics Louis Tully figure.

Not too shabby–well, technically it’s quite shabby, with the untucked shirt and the greasy pizza slice and so forth. But I’m on board for it. (more…)
