It'll be nice to not have to sift through ebay postings and endless MOTUC diatribes to find a DCUC post on their Facebook page, but they don't have it set up very efficiently. It'll be hard to find stuff very quickly.
Also, I wonder if this will cause further problems on the 15th of every month, since their site can't deal with orders alone.
I think nothing good will come of this. I was already starting to think too much credence was being given to every fan whim, see the Moss Man affair for an example of that, in the way every person had a different opinion and they didn't seem to settle on anything until the last minute, and I feel like the negativity that will be on these boards, both justified and not, will only make the fans look like petulant whiners and legitimate concerns and ideas will get lost in the sea of "Moss Man's ear are teh suckz!1!1!"
I'm going to agree and disagree here. While I think it'll get messy there when changes are announced or when things don't look enough like a prototype etc., I do think it is good of Mattel to put another place out there for feedback beyond facbook, a place that can be more conversational than posts on facebook.
At least it will give us all one place to bitch at Matty when 'he' announces that Martian Manhunter is going to be a SDCC exclusive in a run of only 5 figures…
@Fengschwing: Not only that, but everyone will have to get in line to get a ticket, if your ticket is called, you can have the opportunity to pull a number from a hat, if you pull the correct number, you must answer thee questions correctly, if you answer the questions correctly, you may then get in line and purchase your exclusive SDCC Martian Manhunter, only to find that Scalp-Or is walking away with all five figures gloating that he'll be selling them at his booth.
Weird that the forum only shows up on Matty if your refresh the page a few times – where they trying to hide it?
I’m with Fengschwing – why not? And if they do release MM as an SDCC run of 5 then I fully expect to recieve a lifetime ban for singlehandedly trying to bring the site down by the power of cursing. Lots of damn hell-ass cursing as B. Simpson put it.
so far the forums are…silent of trolls and angry people.
i sure hope that all the people that bitch and moan make their way to mattel's forum and leave other forums like the .org so that we can get back to being places where people can talk about the toy lines they love and not see complaints about how battle cats paws aren't big enough.
This may not be anything or it may be an ill omen, but I notice the Matty forums are powered by something called “Social Strata.”
I’m just waiting for some great high muckety muck, perhaps Matty himself, to point His finger from the cyber heavens and gravely pronounce, “Know your role. And don’t you dare forget it.”
So far there doesn’t seem to be a lot of uproar unlike other related forums. Just the same topics being rehashed over again. It wasn’t 3 topics before a DCUC wishlist thread popped. I wish the remaining waves would leak already so they could put this debate to rest once and for all.

It's going to be deadly there.

I don’t think I will bother checking it out at all.

Definitely looks like they stole half the .org catagories and then added in a few from AFI to try and make up the difference. Should be interesting.

Battle Cat's paws should be BIGGER THAN YO FACE.

i'm checking it out, but i have enough keeping my mouth in check on the few sites i already patrol… we'll see how matty handles the real DR!

I realized why the forum isn't so inviting. Its the color of the forum. Waaaay too much red. Makes them seem sort of stand offish.
Not a good color choice if you want people to calm down and shower you with praise like they hope people do

@Thomas B: Agred! I checked ’em out last night… so far so good.
