A blog about action figures and the toy industry in general by writer and collector Poe Ghostal.

Toy Aisle Trolls > BlunderCats

Toy Aisle Trolls is a feature highlighting acts of vandalism to in-store toy items. If you find a ruined package, a stolen figure, a swapped-out figure, or any other such acts, take a photo (cell phone photos are fine if they’re not blurry) and email them to poe AT poeghostal.com.

The Problem: The Grune figure has been replaced by…something.

Mr. G writes: “I found this at Kmart in Carson, Ca. I don’t know who that other figure is, but my first thought was Vultureman.”

  1. Heh, I think that's 'Harrier' from the Redakai line:

Sword in back looks to be from Power Rangers samurai as well.

  3. Snarf! Snarf!

Not even a full figure! Now that's evil…

  4. Dark Angel

…am gonna have to admit that, at a glance, I didn't really see much difference between the crap Bandai puts in those packages and the crap the thief replaced it with… 😉

Grune's a cool figure with a magnetic back you can put his arrow pack or any other accessory,i hve never seen swaps here, only attempted ripped containers.

Whoever accepted this back and put it on the shelf should be sacked. There is a clear image on the box of what the toy is supposed to look like! These people don't deserve jobs. In the UK if you buy toy and there is anything wrong with it, you will have trouble exchanging it.
Grune is one of the best figures. 😀

Those Redakai figures look pretty awesome, though. At least when they have all their legs.

  8. Whelp, I guess ThunderCats have "made it" if the TAT's are targeting it…

  9. Is there a name for not outright theft, or repackaging; but returning old figures for new ones and pegwarming a line to death? Two local Target stores had DCUC 19, now they have Negative Man and Cyclotron out there, and I'm positive someone exchanged those for the new ones. A Walmart had Kamandi and Starman mysteriously back with the dregs of DCUC 18; and another had a Power of the Jedi Aurra Sing out there, however old that was.
