A new direction for DCUC?

Batman’s latest costume

Before we go any further, let me clarify: this is a rumor. I think it’s much too early to begin venting one’s spleen as if this were fact. I want no aneurysms as a result of my posting this, got it? (more…)

The Mystery of the Plastic Mist

I was digging out some of the DCUC and Movie Masters figures the other day and found several of them–particularly Deathstroke, Nightwing and Movie Masters Batman Begins Batman–were covered with that oily, misty substance. There was a lot of discussion of this after DCUC Wave 3–apparently the worst offender for this issue–and in doing some research, I came across this informative Fwoosh post by user BigGuido. (more…)

Bastards of the Universe > “Twitch’s Inferno”

I haven’t played the Dante’s Inferno game (and feel free to skip that link, since it wants region and date of birth for some reason, probably “mature” content) but Articulated Discussion sold me on the Dante figure. Even if I never play the game, he’s great on his own.

I can’t recall if I’ve ever actually read the Divine Comedy either, or if I’ve just seen pastiches and cover versions. Of course, in the Bastards’ world, 30no one speaks medieval Italian…

Three years of PGPoA!

It’s hard to believe, but today is the three-year anniversary of PGPoA. Frankly, I’m shocked that I’ve been able to maintain my attention on a single project this long. But here we are, 1,500 posts later (not counting Pics of the Day). We’ve been through a lot–the early Interview Era, the It Figures period, the DCUC era, the MOTUC era, the Onan the Barbarian era, and now the Bastards of the Universe era.

I want to thank OB1, Mecha-Shiva, all the Power Pals and of course, my loving and patient wife for all their help and support over the years.

Oh, and fear not, the annual Four Horsemen interview is coming–they’re just running a bit late with it because they’re so busy making your favorite toys.

In honor of the anniversary, I’m giving away a free Dread Axe of Darkness to the first commenter who can tell me what figure was the subject of my first official action figure review (hint: it wasn’t written for PGPoA).

Ask Mattel > Answers for December 1

1.) Mark asks: Can you please stop posing the WWE Legends figures in the packages as it is bending their legs to the side. Just pose them normally, they do not have to be in a dynamic pose to sell. Excellent figures BTW!

We pack out our Legends figures in dynamic poses that match trademark actions of those Superstars. However, we have become aware that some poses tend to negatively affect the figure inside and we will no longer be posing figures in ways that may happen do this.

2.) William Fontaine De la Tour Dauterive asks: Has the WWE team considered using the Terry Funk Elite upper body on more superstars? I feel that torso is more appropriate for folks like Edge, Chris Jericho, Drew McIntyre, Alberto Del Rio, Cowboy Bob Orton, prime Shawn Michaels, etc since it’s a little beefier than what’s currently being used.
