Odds ‘n Ends

  • Congratulations to PGPoA reader Griffen, winner of the Odds ‘n Ends holiday contest! Kyle correctly identified almost every item in the pile, even beating out Michael Crawford by recognizing the little red present as being from the NECA NBX Cyclops. I’ll be sending him the Santa Spud as soon as I get back from the holidays.
  • Thanks to OB1 for creating this cool little trick that automatically generates these “odds” and “ends.”
  • Just two more days before I finally get my MOTUC He-Man and Beast Man…from Santa, of course.
  • Dr. Mrs. Ghostal and I watched Rudolph in HD over the weekend–like Grinch, it looked excellent. They really must have scrubbed up that print sometime recently.
  • So, all you Los Angeles residents, any cool toy stores I should hit up while I’m here? I’m hoping to link up with Rustin Parr sometime before I leave for our bi-annual visit to Puzzle Zoo
  • For those of you familiar with Twitter (and those of you who aren’t), I wanted to draw your attention to the fact that PGPoA has an account (link). Twitter is sort of like sending text messages to the world at large via the Web. If you’ve ever wanted to know when I was at the airport, or what YouTube link I just found mildly entertaining, your time has come.

  1. I also identified the NBX Cyclops Christmas gift.

  2. Poe

True! That was just the one he got that Michael Crawford missed. He also got the earmuffs, which are from Yukon Cornelius, not Frosty as most people guessed.

  3. Yeah I knew that was wrong when I was guessing. Good contest though Poe. Where's the train from?

  4. Poe

The Winter Warlock from "Santa Claus is Comin' To Town."

  5. Griffin

Where was that penguin and the hat from, cause I didn't know those two for sure.

  6. Poe

The penguin was from the Batman Returns "Penguin Commandos" set by Kenner, and the hat is from the first-release Hermey the Misfit Elf from Memory Lane. He appears to have different colors than all the later re-releases.

  7. Griffin

I thought that might be Hermey's hat but the colors threw me off.
