It’s that time again! There hasn’t been a major non-sub item since the Eternian Guards pack in January, so it will be interesting to see how today’s sale tests Mattycollector.com.
I think it was probably a bad idea to have three very high-demand items–the Weapons Rack, Panthor and the reissued Moss Man on the same day–but the fact that it’s happening hardly surprises me.

I hadn't even considered that a large Panthor demand may gum up trying to buy a Weapons Rack more than the rather easy process for the Guards.

I'm curious to see if the stands finally run out today.
If a lot of other subscription collectors have been doing what I have (specifically waiting for a non-sub item sale day where they're already committed to paying extra shipping) then Matty might see another jump in demand for them.
I mean, if nothing else, you gotta get a set to be a floor beneath your weapons rack… 😉

Things had gone really well up until the billing screen at which point I've been on WSOD for 10 minutes and I have to leave for an important meeting. Guess I'll have to get Panthor at some later reissue. Should still be able to get Luthor later today. Sad.

Am I crazy for finding the $10.55 shipping for a pair of weapons racks OUTRAGEOUS? That's about $1.40 less than the 2 subs we have and 1 Panthor alone probably weighs 4 of the weapons rack. Is USPS really that much?

It must be something about the web connection here at work, but I keep getting refreshes through all purchasing, shipping, and billing pages for ~40 minutes until it finally fails fatally. Then I open a new window and waltz right through unscathed.
I'd like to just wait until an hour in to buy, but I am so nervous about the many 5 minutes sell-outs that I'm Pavlovian about the noon EST log-on.

Got through in under 10 minutes. Ordered another Panthor, 2 weapons racks, 2 sets of stands and a Moss Man to deflock. Now I wait and see how long it takes to get here from the distribution center which is about an hour away.

I was getting WSOD all over the place. It even came up on the billing screen when I didn't even click anything, so I switched over to a different tab and was able to finish.

I forgot how much I hated the WSOD. This is the first time since November when I was trying to get my King Grayskull that I've had to fight the rush.
I was still able to get my weapon racks though. I think Mattel seems to have done a decent job of meeting demand after nearly three years.

Got out of my meeting and while the site shows no sell outs, when I try to buy Panthor he is indeed sold out and it won't let me continue. Well at least Luthor will join Superman and Zod. Guess I'll be waiting for a Panthor reissue.

I had a "business lunch" and returned to the office and ordered up a Panthor at 1:30pm EST no freaking problem. I think the new Digital River requirement to type in the two secret words of the day has really slowed down the "ebay scalper flippers" and other "drifters and low-life losers".

System worked fine. I was like Rich, busy with work when prompted by poeghostal reading to check out the day's list at like 2:00 p.m. I thought I was out of luck but got my Sinestro, Sy-Klone, two sets of stands and weapons rack.

the postal service ain't the outright value it used to be, but it does not cost them what matty is charging us to ship.

OoooooKay…. So I was at work, real damn busy, but managed to log on and without ANY trouble get Sy, Panthor, AND MM. Huh. And this was stretched out between 1230 and 1300. So, I have to say this was the BEST month so far as far as ordering goes. Be it the anti-bot scrambler, better stock, or less interest, SOMEthing is working!

When I knew that these were going to ship UPS, and arrive at my door in 3 days, then I understood the cost. Now that they're using the 3rd party carrier to deliver them to your local sorting center, it means Matty is saving a lot of money, and you'll see your item in about 7-10 business days if you're lucky. So yeah, the shipping cost is ridiculous.

When did they change their shipping? It was nice last year as I could get things UPS sent to work, but I cannot get USPS sent to work because USPS goes through the mail room while UPS goes to the front desk.
